About Us
Philip E. Seibert, CFP® Founder and President, Philip E. Seibert, CFP®, began his investment career in November 1974, which was a tumultuous time for the U.S. economy. The severe stock market declines in the 1973–74 bear market were some of the worst since the Great Depression. The experiences caused Phil to seek out strategies that were more dynamic. Phil spent the next nine years with a large mutual fund and financial planning firm. During that time, he became a successful registered representative, trainer and district sales manager. Eventually, however, Phil decided that private practice, rather than management, was his preferred career path. In 1983, Mr. Seibert joined a major Wall Street brokerage firm so he could better pursue his interest in investments and the investment process. Phil spent a considerable amount of his personal time researching and studying various disciplines employed by successful investment advisors. From that research, he began to develop his own quantitative and statistical methodologies. In late 1986, Phil was invited to participate in the firm’s newly developed Portfolio Management Program. He remained in that program throughout his tenure, eventually holding the title of Senior Portfolio Manager, until founding Julius Arthur Seibert & Co. in 2007. Since the early 1990’s, Phil has had the pleasure of speaking at numerous public and private investment seminars. As a strategic thinker, he consults with business owners on their business development programs, succession plans and potential merger and acquisition activities. Phil has also participated in seminars on topics such as employee issues and behavioral interaction techniques. In 2007, Phil developed a 20-hour seminar on success-seeking principles, which he still teaches. He is also active in his community and currently serves on several non-profit and township boards. In 1970, while attending the University of Cincinnati, Phil was drafted and served in Viet Nam with the 1st Cavalry Division. Phil eventually returned to UC and pursued his undergraduate degree in business, accounting and taxation. In 1984, he received his CFP® designation from the College for Financial Planning. An avid reader, Phil has an extensive personal library, including many rare and first additions. He has a particular interest in historical economics and its impact on the culture and values of the time. Phil lives in Cincinnati and has been married for over 40 years. His wife is a K-8 reading specialist and holds a Masters in Art Education from the Cincinnati Art Academy. They have two children, both of whom are graduates of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Connie Feys, VP Operations Originally from the Cleveland area, Connie moved to Cincinnati where she attend U.C. and received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Since then, Connie has spent over 35 years in financial and investment advisory services businesses. Her working career has encompassed a wide variety of positions from administration to overseeing operations and compliance at several firms. In 2014 Connie was referred to Phil by one of his former operational colleagues to replace Karen Shaw, who was retiring. Connie immediately assumed all phases of JAS’s non-trading operations and assists with client communications. Connie also assists with various compliance functions. She has been an important addition to Julius Arthur Seibert and brings a wealth of experience to our operations and compliance. In her spare time, Connie volunteers doing Radio Reading for the Blind for the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She lives in Northern Kentucky where she raised her family and has two adult children.
